International Istanbul Music Festival
Istanbul's historical places meet the stars of classical music at the Festival...International Istanbul Music Festival under the sponsorship of Borusan Holding, is preparing a special programme in its 36th year at the historical buildings of
Istanbul. The most exclusive stars, awarded young solists, local and international orchestras of the classical music will meet Istanbul's music lovers between June 6-30.
The Festival will again host its guests in historical places;
Hagia Eirene Museum(in
Sultanahmet),
Istanbul Archaeological Museum(in
Gulhane),
Topkapi Palace(in
Sultanahmet), Bulgarian Church (in
Golden Horn)... Another historical unique building will take place in this year's programme: The Sureyya Opera House(in
Kadikoy).
As a part of educational and social projects parallel to the concerts; lectures related to the concert programmes, conversations with the artists before the concerts, workshops for young musicians and artists' encounters with students in different schools will take place first time in this year's festival.
The programme of the year 2008 will be anounced in the official website of festival, after the press meeting on April 29, 2008.
