Human Conditions

Istanbul Museum of Modern Art opened a new photography exhibition titled "Human Conditions" that features photographs by Sitki Kosemen, and Ergun Turan and Sureyya Yilmaz Dernek at the Photography Gallery.

The exhibition is curated by Engin Özendes. On one of the gallery walls, photographs taken by Ergun Turan and Sureyya Yilmaz Dernek of people passing by the street in their most natural moods are displayed; on the other wall, photographs by Sitki Kosemen of people "playing the death" take place. Overall 52 photographs are exhibited. The "Human Conditions" exhibition will be open until 25 January 2009.



The exhibition brings together Sitki Kosemen’s people performing a kind of protest by "playing death" and Ergun Turan’s and Sureyya Yilmaz Dernek’s different passer-bys, in 52 photographs. "Human Conditions" expects new stories to be created by the audience on the numbered photographs in the exhibition notebook.

Istanbul Modern is located in Karakoy,on the European side of Istanbul.
