28 th Istanbul Film Festival from April 4th to 19th 2009

28th Istanbul Film Festival tickets on sale

ISTANBUL - Tickets for the 28th International Istanbul Film Festival, organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts and sponsored by Akbank, will be on sale starting tomorrow. Discount price application, which started last year, will continue this year and ticket prices will be the same as last year.

A full-price ticket for a festival film is 10 Turkish liras. Students and those above the age of 65 will pay 7 seven liras for all sessions, except Akbank galas. Gala films are 15 liras. Ticket prices for weekday sessions at 11 a.m, 1.30 p.m. and 4 p.m. and for all Turkish films will be 3.50 liras. Akbank Axess cardholders will be able to buy tickets at a 20 percent discount. Tickets will be on sale at Emek and Atlas movie theater box offices in Beyoglu and Rexx in Kadikoy.

Lale Card holders will pay 8 liras for festival tickets, 5.50 liras for discount tickets and 12 liras for gala tickets. Weekday sessions for Lale Card holders will be 3.50 liras.

Important guests

Sixty-seven film screenings, which will be realized with the participation of guest directors and artists, have been marked in the festival booklets. Among the guests will be famous directors Peter Greenway, Jerzy Skolimovski, Heddy Honigmann and Bill Plympton. They will have talks with viewers before the screening of their films. The International Istanbul Festival will feature 200 films in more than 20 sections, as well as cinema courses, discussions and parties. The festival films will be shown in seven movie theaters: Emek, Atlas, Beyoglu, Yeni Ruya movie theaters in Beyoglu, Pera Museum Movie Theater and Rexx Movie Theater in Kadikoy. The Nisantasi CityLife Movie Theater will host festival viewers at the weekend.
