27th Istanbul Book Fair

The Theme and the Author of Honor of the 27th Istanbul Book Fair have now been decided

The Theme and the Author of Honor of the 27th Istanbul Book Fair organized by TÜYAP Tum Fuarcilik Yapim A.S. and the Turkish Publishers Association and to be staged at the TUYAP Fair, Convention and Congress Center, in Beylikduzu,which is located on the European side of Istanbul between the 1st and the 9th of November, 2008 have now been decided.

Through a unanimous decision adopted by the Consultancy Board of the Istanbul Book Fair, the esteemed author Furuzan has been determined as the Author of Honor of the 27th Istanbul Book Fair. During the fair, discussions and panels relating the literal personality of Furuzan as well as her works will be organized.This year, the Consultancy Board of the Istanbul Book Fair determined the main theme of the Book Fair as being “1968- 40 years before, 40 years after”. Within the framework of this theme, esteemed authors and guests will be invited from abroad. Within this scope, events related to the soul of the 68 movement and its repercussions on today both in Turkey and abroad will be organized and the contributions of that period on the literature, cinema, art, and culture will be covered.

The Istanbul Book Fair will be realized with the participation of nearly 550 publishing houses and non-government organizations simultaneously with ARTIST 2008 – the 18th Istanbul Art Fair.
